What is ertuğrul günay?

Ertuğrul Günay is a Turkish politician who was born in Ankara on December 1, 1948. He graduated from Ankara University with a degree in law and started his political career as a member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey in 1983 representing the center-right Motherland Party.

Günay served as the Minister of Culture and Tourism during the Justice and Development Party government between 2007 and 2013. He was responsible for initiating several cultural projects such as the restoration of historical sites and the establishment of museums. He also contributed to the development of Turkey's tourism industry.

After leaving the AKP in 2013, Günay founded the Rights and Justice Party and became its chairman. He was also appointed as the Deputy Chairman of UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee in 2013.

Günay is considered a prominent figure in Turkish politics, known for his efforts to promote Turkey’s cultural heritage and preserve the country's historical sites. He has written several books and articles about Turkish history, culture, and politics.
